Was Eisenhower A Conspiracy Nut?

Isn’t it strange how our “leaders” become honest and concerned about the fate of America once they’ve left office? For those of you old enough to remember Eisenhower’s famous farewell address to the nation, you’ll recall that he warned us to beware the military/industrial complex. I have learned only recently that he wanted to include Congress in his warning but was dissuaded from doing so.

I would add the Corporate Media & the University system to this web of deceit and manipulation of the public. Clearly, Ike was not prone to wild speculation or ranting & raving. Ike served his country well (mostly) yet was complicit in the build-up of this pernicious complex of greed & corruption. I believe he began to worry about the sort of world his grandchildren would inherit and this is what prompted him to speak out at last.

Obviously this wasn’t a conspiracy in the usual understanding of the term. No, this was an open conspiracy because it was relatively speaking, common knowledge among a large segment of the American public—especially those who were college educated.

The point is that those who had the power & the duty to inform us betrayed us and dishonored the principles upon which this grand experiment we call the United States, was founded. They were and still are to this day, committing treason. And the current, commander in chief of crime & corruption, “Dubya,” the prep-school cowboy from Andover, is the epitome of what Ike warned us about.

At times, I despair that we’ll ever wake up and stop this madness & these shameful actions around the world! Those who are innocently ignorant are not to be blamed. But those who are willfully ignorant are guilty of cowardice & wanton greed and their souls will torment them for eternity—if there is any true justice in this world or the next? Our primary hope is to take back our media and our higher educational system so the public can learn the nuts & bolts of how this craven system of venality, vice, & vulgarity came about & then perhaps we can take back our power & make true freedom a reality for all Americans!
